The TetherPro Cable I Use for Camera and Rig

My take: the Tether Tools TetherPro is the tethering cable I’ve used for about three years, in my studio and on stage, and it hasn’t failed once.

Mine is the 15-foot version: 5 Gbps, one right-angle end and one straight end.

How I use it

  • Studio: I shoot tethered from my Fujifilm GFX across my studio to a computer, so I can check shots on a larger monitor or a laptop.
  • Stage: it runs my guitar amp modeler from beside my mic stand to a laptop or iPad offstage. It handles constant MIDI data as easily as photos and video.

The details I appreciate

  • It’s orange. It’s easy to see, so you don’t trip over it in a busy studio.
  • It’s reliable. About three years, no connection problems while shooting tethered.
