Disclosure: I’m an Ernie Ball artist, so I get Ernie Ball products at a discount.
My take: this is the first time I’ve used the Ernie Ball care kit, and it cleaned up my bass better than the cleaners I’ve tried before.
The kit is a guitar polish, a fretboard conditioner, a string cleaner and a polishing cloth. I used all of it on my bass.
How it went
- String cleaner: wipe it on lightly. It smells like coconut to me, and it took the finger grime right off the dirty spots.
- Polish and cloth: the cloth is good quality, and it pulled up a lot of the grime and left a real shine.
- What’s left: some grime in the tight spots. I’ll get in there with a cotton swab later. It’s also easier to do all this with the strings off.
The bass ended up nice, shiny and dry, the cleanest it’s been.
