My take: Elegoo PLA-CF prints strong, hard, precise parts. It only performs if you keep it bone dry and dial in your settings.
It arrives well vacuum-packed. The appeal is strength and hardness, which makes it a good fit for precision parts and anything mechanical you build with your printer.
What it needs from you
- Dry filament. It absorbs moisture quickly. Use a dryer and get it to the right dryness. I feed mine straight from the dryer into the printer.
- Good calibration. Run all the checks and level your bed.
- Temperature testing. Small temperature changes make a real difference in how it prints.
- Quality nozzles. Don’t cheap out.
What bugs me
It’s brittle. It doesn’t bend, it snaps. I’ve bumped the dryer while turning it on and cracked the filament off.
What it can do
When it’s dialed in, the prints are excellent. I printed a scanner piece with stiff threads that attaches to my camera perfectly. The finish is a smooth, soft, matte texture.
