My take: the New Bee wireless transmitter sounds better than its price suggests. I use it at home. I wouldn’t trust it on stage or for recording.
It’s about as simple as wireless gets: two units with USB charging, plugged into the guitar and the amp. It comes with a case and a few bonus picks. I’ll pass on the picks.
What surprised me
It sounds good. Playing through it, I can’t hear a difference from a cable at home. It’s also survived being dropped, and probably thrown across the room at least once, which is how my gear lives.
What bugs me
It’s easy to forget it’s on. More than once I’ve reached for it and found the battery dead. My fix is a dedicated charger, using the cable it shipped with, so it’s always topped off. The case is nice, but I’ll just throw the units in my bag.
Who it’s for
- For: practicing around the house without tripping over a cable.
- Not for: gigs or recording sessions. I don’t use it for either.
